About NOMA

NOMA Golden Jubilee Mission Statement

Creating and advancing a creative, knowledge-based society in Japan.

Nippon Omni-Management Association (NOMA), formerly Nippon Office Management Association, was founded in 1949 as a non-profit membership organization under the accreditation of the former Ministry of International Trade and Industry in response to strong calls from business and other circles. NOMA's current name was adopted in 1971.

During our 50-year history, NOMA has promoted a large variety of projects to rationalize and modernize office and information management and to train experts in these tasks, thereby contributing to the development of Japanese industry and society in general. In this period of great global transition and a future steeped in imponderables, individuals, organizations and nations all need to shape their own destinies and keep their identities pliable. Businesses are under growing pressure to focus on " creative management " to meet the demands of the times through maximum use of intellectual assets. As NOMA celebrates its 50th anniversary, we have decided to adjust our mission to this new environment while building on our achievements and tradition over the past half century. NOMA will try to help accomplish the following four objectives through our activities as part of our mission to contribute to the " creation and advancement of a creative knowledge-based society. "

  • Shift to a creative, knowledge-based society with a pliable identity.
  • Establish of business models focused on value creation through collaboration between individuals and organizations.
  • Develop and effective use of core human resources in order to create innovation and values.
  • Contribution to society through consistent pursuit of value.

In trying to accomplish our mission as a non-profit organization, we propose concrete steps that management, organizations and individuals need to take for practical and specific achievements. These steps require applying an " intellectual value creation " approach to all projects, and helping organizations develop human resources and reform management methods to create value. On the special occasion of our 50th anniversary, we hereby pledge that we will grow and evolve as a non-profit organization fulfilling a unique role in the development of the business community with the help of our corporate members and organizations, the government sector and other components of society.
